This Privacy Policy describes how Scalar Studio ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Taverna Discord bot and the tavernadm.com website (collectively, the "Service").

Information you provide
- Discord username and user ID — used to identify you within the Service and link your game data.
- Email address — collected via the beta sign-up form for communication purposes.
- Game content — messages you send while interacting with the bot, character data, world data, and other in-game content you create.
- Feedback — any feedback or bug reports you submit through the bot or website.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data — commands used, feature interactions, and error logs to help us improve the Service.
- LLM interaction logs — prompts and responses exchanged with AI models are logged for debugging, quality assurance, and abuse prevention. These logs may be retained for up to 90 days.
- Website analytics — standard web analytics (page views, referrer) collected via privacy-respecting tools. We do not use third-party ad trackers.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and operate the Service (game state, characters, worlds).
- To improve the Service, fix bugs, and develop new features.
- To communicate with you about the beta program, updates, and support.
- To monitor for abuse, cheating, or violations of our Terms of Service.
- To generate anonymised, aggregated analytics.
3. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate Taverna:
- Discord — the platform through which the bot operates. Your use of Discord is subject to Discord's Privacy Policy.
- OpenAI — AI model provider. Game messages are sent to OpenAI's API for processing. See OpenAI's Privacy Policy. OpenAI does not use API data to train their models.
- Cloudflare — website security and Turnstile verification.
- Vercel — website hosting.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your game data is stored in a secured database. We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections, access controls, and regular backups. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
5. Data Retention
- Game data (characters, worlds, messages) is retained for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service.
- LLM logs are retained for up to 90 days for debugging and quality purposes.
- Beta sign-up data is retained until the beta program concludes or you request removal.
6. Your Rights
You may:
- Request your data — ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Request deletion — ask us to delete your data. We will remove your game data, characters, and associated records.
- Withdraw from the beta — leave the beta Discord server at any time.

7. Children's Privacy
The Service is not intended for users under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required by Discord in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via the beta Discord server or email. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
